Due to decreasing ridership caused by the COVID-19 pandemics, Kern Transit is making the following service changes: Effective immediately, all local fixed routes in the Kern River Valley area have been suspended. Kern County has announced that we will be moving to an “essential-staffing only model” effective tonight until April 14th. Even though our County office will be closing, because transit is an essential function, Kern Transit will keep operating for as long as we safely can. Now Connecting Riders to Santa Clarita
ROUTE 120 (Taft – Bakersfield) Beginning Monday 11-4, we will be moving our eastbound and westbound stops back to their original locations on Stockdale Highway at Buena Vista Road.
Beginning Monday, September 9, 2019, Kern Transit buses will no longer stop at the Wasco Amtrak station. A new bus stop has been constructed near City Hall on 8th Street between F Street and G Street.

Beginning Wednesday, May 1st, Kern Transit will offer 7 weekday roundtrips connecting Bakersfield, Frazier Park and Santa Clarita as part of a two-year pilot project funded through the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) program.
