Kern Transit would like to notify passengers of our upcoming holiday closures and reduced service schedules for the 2025–2026 winter season. Please review the details below and plan your travel accordingly.
Holiday Closures
All Kern Transit services will be closed on the following dates:
- Christmas Day – Thursday, December 25, 2025
- New Year’s Day – Thursday, January 1, 2026
No routes will operate on these dates.
Reduced Holiday Service – Routes 100 & 250
Route 100 (Lancaster–Bakersfield) and Route 250 (California City–Lancaster) will operate on a reduced holiday schedule on:
- Christmas Eve – Wednesday, December 24, 2025
- New Year’s Eve – Wednesday, December 31, 2025
Please note that certain runs will not operate on these days. Trips highlighted in gray below on the schedule are canceled to allow staff to be with their families.
Route 100 (Lancaster–Bakersfield) Adjustments
- The final eastbound trip from Bakersfield to Lancaster will depart the Bakersfield Amtrak station at 12:40 PM.
- The final westbound trip from Lancaster to Bakersfield will depart the Mobil on Avenue J at 4:30 PM.
Route 250 (California City–Lancaster) Adjustments
- The final southbound trip from California City to Lancaster will depart Rite Aid on California City Blvd. at 6:30 PM.
